Clothed in Christ
Christ Our Life
Переглядів 1,1 тис.День тому
The Christian life is the redefining of the self. In his letter to the Colossians, Paul explains that since we are united to Christ in faith, we can therefore put off our old sinful self, and put on a new self that has been raised with Christ. We cannot be saved by adding anything to the work of Christ-not obedience or tradition or good works. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, a...
The Prayer of Jesus
Переглядів 5 тис.2 дні тому
Prayer had a high priority in Jesus’ life. After teaching His disciples and preparing them for His departure, He prayed for Himself, for His disciples, and for all believers for all time. Beginning a study of John 17, Alistair Begg walks us through Christ’s straightforward yet deeply profound High Priestly Prayer. In an overview of this sacred passage, we get a taste of the mystery, security, s...
Follow Me

When the resurrected Jesus appeared to Peter, recommissioned him, and told him what the future held, the restored disciple had to confront the task before him. Initially, his attention was focused on his friend John-perhaps in empathy or concern, or perhaps in jealousy. Yet Jesus redirected Peter and echoed His initial invitation to follow Him. While Peter and John were different men with diffe...
A Death Predicted, A Disciple Restored
Переглядів 1,8 тис.14 днів тому
After His resurrection, Jesus reappeared to His disciples several times. One such encounter involved a hard but necessary conversation in which Peter, who’d previously denied knowing Jesus, affirmed his love for Him. Christ then disclosed Peter’s future death and restored him to the mission of “fishing” for men and shepherding God’s people. Alistair Begg points out that the disciple’s previous ...
Trusting God in the Wilderness

After years of wandering in the desert, the Israelites began to complain and long for their days in Egypt. As a response, God sent deadly venomous snakes-a poignant reminder of their oppression and captivity in Egypt. When Moses cried out to God, He provided salvation. Anyone who looked to the serpent on the pole would live. There was no power in the serpent itself, but the act of looking was e...
The Fellowship of the Church
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Місяць тому
In John’s first epistle, he writes to discouraged believers, calling them to be devoted to Christian fellowship, not elite spiritual experiences. Unlike worldly fellowship which is earned, the only way to enter into the fellowship of believers is through faith in Christ’s imputed righteousness. Because of Jesus, every believer shares the same unifying foundation-the same Father, the same Savior...

Chapter 7 of Luke’s Gospel records the story of a widow who encountered Jesus during the funeral procession for her son. When Jesus saw her, He spoke to her and then raised her son from the dead. In this message, Alistair Begg reminds us of Jesus’ vast love and compassion, emphasizing that this picture of Jesus triumphing over death is a sign and a promise of all that awaits believers in the ag...

I loved seeing this 40th Anniversary Blessing for Alistair & Susan. I live in California & have been a radio listener (thru KVIP, originating in Redding, Ca) for over 2+1/2 years. What a gift, now, to see this beautiful Church & congregation and to be able to now view whole sermons, to the point, with all the deserved adjectives given by the Pastor in Sydney, Australia (I feel his name is Woodhouse?) The LORD has certainly blessed this ministry. am very Thankful! 🙏🙏🙏

I watched this evening four months ago as Pastor Begg and the team at Parkside have been such a steady Biblical presence in my life. Tonight as I rewatched it from four months out and what has occurred during that time and heard the prayers for he and Susan against the black clouds and the protection from the attacks of the evil one that may come into their lives, I don't feel any one could have foreseen how fierce those attacks would be and yet I've seen that through it all that Alistair's teaching has become more passionate and more eager for the unsaved to come to know the Lord he loves so very much and for all God's redeemed children to fully understand the depth of and power of God's love for us. His heart is settled and at peace with the Lord no matter the battle scars he wears. “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” - Psalm 91

Someone born into a Christian family wouldn't understand the stranglehold that satan has on his (property), even as they come to believe, still the literal strength required to take a first step can be as overwhelming as stepping off a cliff to the death of the only life they have ever known. Sometimes what is needed is an in their face confrontation, asking point blank do you want to come to Jesus. Many would honestly respond '" I'm afraid ". Hoping for, wanting and dreading all at once. Great job Pastor Begg!

I’ve met you a couple of times. Once in Keswick, where you signed my book just before I heard that I might be going into ministry, once 5 years later where I cried out from your pews asking for help as I was alone in ministry, lost and in need of help; working 16-18 hours a day every day, from grass cutting, roof repairs, children clubs, preaching and advising and mentoring 100 odd people while my senior pastor abandoned me on sabbatical. You didn’t hear my cries, you never heard the life I was saved from by your ministry .. I was actually quoted once on the truth for life cd: George Round from Gravesend, England. You mocked me along with rico tice, and my abusive father spoke after me some lunacy which you didn’t stop to consider I was in need of help with.. and then we met in London a few months later at the gospel light conference next to Westminster abbey. I have struggled to listen to you for these past 6-7years since then… until I saw all this controversy recently. And now tonight, I heard your response to all of that - and you have finally said something I’ve been waiting nearly 20 years to hear from mainstream Christians. “It is by grace you are saved, not of works so that no one may boast”. Someone once said that you have to stoop to get into heaven - well, I commend you and encourage you to be taken down as far as you can on the side of compassion for that is the only entrance into Heaven, and I am so happy to hear this message from you. Ive been saved from a life of crime, violence and brokenness, by living with a heart broken which came about by Gods message, of Gods love, through Gods servant - Alistair Begg at parkside church, the congregation who serve and support there, and by all those who are unsung, silent and unknown heroes in the TruthForLife ministry work. Keep your cigarettes and keep your compassion.

Silent Night is traditionally accompanied by a guitar, just as it was, the first time as it was played. It is the message of the carol that is the main thing.

Congratulations to you all; Alistair, Susan, and the congregation at Parkside, celebrating 40 years of dedicated service to our Lord! I've been so blessed to follow the teaching of Alistair for several years and to also support Truth for Life Ministry as God has allowed. It's been said "to never meet your heros". I'm not convinced that's true. I had the very unexpected experience of meeting Alistair (as he instructed me to address him) at the Walmart in Oberlin of all places! A completely random meeting as I recognized him while I was waiting for the pharmacy to open and he made a brief stop after quickly needing nail clippers....such a chance encounter!! Alistair was so gracious and kind while tolerating my intrusion into his day. He even took the time to stand with me for a couple of pictures!! Pictures I have proudly shared with others familiar with his teaching and ministry! What a blessing and inspiration Alistair has been over these years.May God continually bless you, your family, and your ministry dear Alistair.
